Using free technology available through Google Street View, a 360 degree panoramic photosphere was captured using a smartphone. The environment captured in the photosphere became the starting point for the project. Using digital software, stitching flaws and digital blemishes were corrected from the raw photosphere.
The original photosphere was transformed into a fictional conceptual environment through digital painting and manipulation. Photospheres have a equirectangular projection, so images were warped to follow this skewed perspective. Color palettes, lighting strategies, and storyboards were key in the creation of the mood and content of this fictional environment. The final result is viewed using virtual reality goggles, which responds to the movement of the body.
