Emily Rickard

I am a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fine Arts and a minor in Art History.  I currently work as a freelance fine artist and designer in Los Angeles, CA.  My work is a study of color, transparency, composition, and the process of combining layers of found and gathered materials in an effort to convey glowing warmth and vibrancy.  I find inspiration in historical contexts such as folk art, southern pieced quilts, formalist painting of the 1950s, as well as contemporary interior design and the decorative arts.  I love the color marigold and am an avid gatherer of paint swatches.  I would be happy to receive any comments about my work.  Please feel free to contact me!
