"Cheap Shot"

Cheap Shot is a Tarantino-esque photo narrative of a jealous housewife, a cheating husband and the cheap whore on the side taking place circa 1990 exploring the ideas of cheap excess present in the social scene of this time period. The concept started with three articles of clothing found on the Rag-O-Rama dollar rack (a red button down shirt, an electric blue floral dress, and a neon pink baby doll lingering) and from there came three powerful characters. Flash is used to purposefully cheapen the image quality and varying levels of cross processing are added in post to exagerate the vibrant gluttony of the scenes. The models were given their characters and the excitement of the concept took over to achieved a greater authenticity with minimal direction, therefore the photos appear more like the documentation of an act rather than something rigidly staged. I plan to use the final images to create a hard copy book, solidifying the concept as a narative story.

Cheap Shot is still a work in process...
