The origin of the Chinese Shar-Pei can be traced to the province of Guangdong and has existed for centuries in the southern provinces of China.

  These dog were used as hunting and fighting dogs. The Shar-Pei’s wrinkles actually served a vital purpose for their jobs as hunting and fighting dogs.  When rammed by a boar (their usual prey) the flaps of heavy skin would receive most, if not all of the damage from the impact.

The Shar-Pei is extremely devoted, loyal and affectionate to its family and is amenable to accepting strangers given time and proper introduction at a young age. . At adulthood, the Shar-Pei will reach a height between 18-20  inches, and a weight around 40-55 pounds. However, this dog house is not just made for Shar- Pei's. Any small medium size dog can make this Dog Palace their new home.
